25 Weeks

It's baby update time, and at 25 weeks now and it seems like Baby Mila sure has been growing a lot since the last update! You can see the growth yourself in this week's belly shot...

This week's photo background: This past week we were in a town about an hour away from Kansas City to celebrate a relative's birthday and since the party was located in the historic downtown area, I knew there had to be a cool spot for this week's photo and boy was I right! Obviously this bright blue wall, isn't the most traditional background wall in that downtown area, but I love how unique it is and how much variety it adds to this series of belly shots. So thanks to good ol' BJ's Shoe Repair for their one, small pale blue wall!

Questions of the week:

1. How big is the baby (with Avery's help)?

A rutabaga sure seems like a downgrade from last week's grapefruit, but can you believe that the rutabaga is actually the food size for 27 weeks, according to The Bump?!  Kind of crazy! So for this week and the next update, I'm doing a little swapping of my own.  Either way, Avery had fun holding this interesting vegetable that I can say I definently don't use very often (if ever) in my cooking.

"You guys...she's a rutabaga now!"

Then she did what she does best in these weekly photos...throw the food of the week!

"Oh yeah, I'm a big sis with a big throw!"

2. What I'm eating...
Peanut butter has been my new favorite lately mainly because of Avery's new obsession with sandwiches. Jelly sandwiches, butter sandwiches, peanut butter sandwiches, and of course peanut butter AND jelly sandwiches, you name it....she loves them.  So as I've been making them for her, I've been tasting a few myself and peanut butter sure is my favorite. My go-to peanut butter is Trader Joe's Organic Creamy Unsalted Peanut Butter

Just trying to get a picture of some peanut butter toast was a challenge with this hungry, peanut butter-loving girl around!

"Don't mind me Mom!"

The peanut butter fun doesn't stop there, I've been bringing back one of my favorite smoothies from before I was pregnant with Avery, "Creamy Peanut Butter Smoothie." Spinach and peanut butter probably don't seem like the best combo for a smoothie, but it sure tastes good on a hot summer day!

3. Best moment of the week?  Wish I had something meaningful and sweet to right about, but right now I'm just enjoying all the time I have off my from teaching job for my summer break. Each day I'm able to enjoy spending time with Avery, doing some resting and relaxing, as well as planning and working on some fun nursery projects for Mila's room (which I'll be posting more of soon).  So here's to summer break... a pregnant woman's best friend!

See you in two weeks for the next update!
